Lush Review - The Experimenter

Image
Some people love having a crisp and clear bath, just to have a general soak. Recently, however, like many ladies, I've become a little obsessed with Lush bath bombs. I always have a hard time picking one out though... For christmas I was given a rather large supply of bath bombs from Lush and I hate to admit but they're almost all gone. :( So with my supply dwindling I chose 'The Experimenter', I have tried this before and if I'm completely honest it didn't leave a very lasting impression. It defies the usual circular ballistics with a hexagonal prism, that does make it stand out from the crowd. it is also very colourful, which will definitely draw your attention to it - cream and gold on one side and pink and blue on the other, split down the middle by a smooth purple. The moment before you drop in the bath bomb is when I always hold my breath, waiting to see what happens and what secrets are revealed by the fizz is one of my favourite parts of

Look How Cute...

Night Adventure - 26/01/16

Life should be what you want it to be!

You wanna draw; you draw! You wanna sing; sing! You wanna write; write as if your life depends on it! You wanna work in an office; you do anything it takes to get there! You wanna dance; dance your feet off! You wanna be vegan; be a hot-ass vegan! You wanna be your own boss; work it like a boss! You wanna carve wooden spoons; you carve those suckers! You wanna save the world; do everything you can! Do you get my point? Life is not all about doing what's expected of you. In fact if you do the thing that you want to, you'll be far more successful and therefore make those who care about you even more proud. Our existence should be all about enjoying ourselves! Sunday's Story - Knock

Where the knock was coming from I couldn’t decipher. But it was there; always. As soon as I got into bed and turned off the lights, it was there. It was a knock on the outside of the room, the sound slightly muffled; audible but never quite as crisp as when you make the sound yourself. Some nights it would be polite and quiet.  A faint knock, but constant and on those nights my brain would eventually be able to minimise it to white noise and let me fall asleep. However, recently it’s been getting ever more anxious and the tempo of the knocks have been steadily increasing. But tonight; I’ve just shut my eyes. And not a moment after, there was a hammering of knocks. Not the patient knocks but a desperate frenzy of knocks that demanded attention. So I opened my eyes and got out of bed. Unconsciously training my ears to the sound. I stepped towards my wardrobe and couldn’t be mistaken; it was the source--- – The door flew open and a manic girl was throwing her arms around my

#Throwback - What face would you choose? Halloween

Image
During October of 2015, I attempted to create a Halloween look, every day, leading up to Ol' Hallow's Eve. I don't claim to be a makeup artist of any kind; these looks will have their faults and I'm not saying they're perfect, but I am quite proud of how they turned out. And I can say almost definitely that I will be creating more looks this year for Halloween. So being the ordinary teenager that I am, I'm trained in the fantastical art of procrastination XD and thus while I was probably supposed to be doing homework or revision of some sort I began playing around with my makeup - typical girl, not quite; this was what happened... It started with a Witch  (so old that her face is cracking)  Who then had her mouth sewed shut... I was surprised how well it went, so I tried another the next day... #neckmouth and the next.. #smiler and the next... 'The darkness becomes

Smiling and Laughing

Image
Ultimately laughing is one of the most important things and it goes hand in hand with smiling. Laughter can do many things such as make someone smile, bring someone out of the foulest of moods and can disperse tension. It’s one of Mother Natures natural medicines; smiling when you’re sad, even if it’s a fake smile, is scientifically proven to make you feel better because it relieves stress, improves your mood and is totally contagious. Have you ever passed someone on the streets and given them a smile? I do quite regularly, and not one ever fails to return it, now it might be a simple action of courtesy but also imagine if they had had a rubbish morning; their car didn’t start, and they missed the bus, so they were late to work. They’re now on their lunch break but the shop had run out of their favourite, so they had to pick one begrudgingly knowing that they weren’t really going to enjoy it but couldn’t not pick one because Boris, from PR, wouldn’t approve of rumbling tummi

Sunday's Story - Loyal But Spoilt

“Oh my god, I cannot believe you just did that” she screeched back at me with an annoyed tone in her voice. Whilst swinging the satchel over her shoulders and neck so that the strap rested across her chest, she continued “Seriously Bea, what the hell!”  Whoops. “You know I can’t help it” I shouted back with heavy breaths; still running as fast as I could. We turned a sharp corner into a disused bypass tunnel and came to a halt when we were encompassed by the dark. I pulled my long sleeve down over my hand and wiped the sweat off the back of my neck and forehead, thankfully it was dark so no one could see how un-lady like I was being. “I’m sorry Your Highness, you need to start. I know you have diplomatic immunity and all that, but when you want to go out in the real world and no one knows who you are, you can’t just do want you want and get away with it, it’s not that simple out here.” She was acting like my mother, all high pitched and frantic. I’d read stories about people who

A letter to my Younger self

Image
So my planned blog for today was a letter to a younger me but honestly I don’t think I’d have much to say and well; doesn’t make for a very exciting letter… But seriously telling myself not to do things that I learnt a great lesson from kind of defeats the purpose, I doubt I’d be the same person I am today. So many things are left to chance, and it just so happens that I’m glad that every little thing that happened to me, in my earlier years, did! To be completely honest there isn’t much point in looking back on your life and wish something didn’t happen or regretting silly things, like wearing the same outfit for every non-school uniform day in year six because you thought you were ‘da bomb’! #guilty Really there’s nothing you can do about it, you can’t change it until they create time-travel, for which you’ll only have to wait until 2034. However when you think about it, by then, it’ll be such a minuscule event in your life that you probably won’t even remember it.

Trying to get the girl - try these tips

If you think a girl is looking pretty or extra special, tell her! You probably don't realise how much this will brighten up her day and also make her feel amazing. Even if she denies it or makes up an excuse, just restate your compliment, smile and move on. It's pretty much guaranteed to make her feel beautiful. In opposition to no.1, only  ever tell a girl something is wrong with her appearance IF she can fix it in 30 seconds ; for example, if she has an eyelash resting anywhere but her eyes, or if a piece of hair if out of place. Never comment on something that may make her feel self-conscious, or that she can't change, all you can do is accept it Random gentlemanly acts make all the difference, hold the door open if you see someone coming through, offer to carry that bag that shes finding heavy. And manners always make a great impression. Never compare her to someone else, we do enough of that ourselves. Make her laugh, seriously this is the most important thing,

If Money Didn't Matter - What a place the world would be...

Image
Remove the money, what would you have?  Seriously think about it! The only things that money can't buy are happiness, joy and love. So why is it often the case that we let money control these things? Never should you try to buy your happiness or anyone else's, simple actions can make more of a difference than money ever could! Stay Excellent  - Chantal DeHaine

Sunday's Story - The Goth, The Pretty Girl and Me

The Goth, The Pretty Girl and Me His hair plunged down in front of his eyes and made him seem all sorts of rugged, with a sculpted jaw and a whole load of stubble he looked like the front member of an idyllic rock band. His air gave off a pretentious this-took-me-no-time-at-all kind of look that made her appear even more uncanny. She was stunning, a perfect kind of gorgeous that no one could deny. Her hair was always pristine and her nails were always just the right length and shape. Her clothes fit her exactly and her defined physique wasn’t a rare sight. But strangely everyone thought they were the perfect pair. Although they were stereotypically chalk and cheese and it seemed like the goth had fallen for the pretty girl. Everyone knew that she was the one who worked hard for his affections not the other way around. He was so care free that no one could convince him to do anything. All he was concerned with was making sure no one ever saw inside his notebook, even th

'Manners Maketh Man'

Image
I am an absolute sucker for manners. The above quote is supposed to teach us that if someone was to do to us what we had done to another, it would cause chaos... but why can't we make it a little more positive and maybe change it to  but maybe that's where our problem lies, some people throw kind to the wind and just shrug it off. Please don't be one of those people.. Being kind is a value that the world should see more! One of the rare things I get annoyed by is when someone doesn't say please and thank-you, perhaps it's because I can't fathom why it's so hard.  So, here is my plea; going into this great year of 2016, journey with manners! Thankyou Stay Excellent - Chantal DeHaine

"It's a shame about the weather.."

Image
British people are renowned for talking about the weather, are we not? It's become a sort of expected behaviour, so I tend to drop in something about the weather whenever I happen to be talking to someone who isn't British; just to keep up appearances. XD Us Brits talk about the weather because of one of the four following reasons; to fill an awkward silence to change the subject because its common ground or we're actually interested in the weather Regardless I deeply dislike the fact that the first thing that comes to mind when we say British weather is... ...Yep you guessed it. Rain! However, according to Met Office Climate Data, from the last 30 years (on average) there were only 106 days of rain a year. Which isn't actually that much... I got caught in the rain today, and although I had a sort of half dry mermaidy look going on with my hair and my coursework almost got drenched, I really didn't mind. Maybe that's British too

Holiday Provocalips

Image
*Beauty Blog Post* A 'how to' for the perfect long-lasting holiday lipstick; 1. Try not to cover your lips with your foundation when applying your base, this makes it harder to see the natural outline of your lips.  2. For this look I've used Barry M's pencil lip liner in Red (only £2.99). It doesn't matter how rough or thick you draw the outline of your lips so long as you're happy with the shape. Mine isn't perfect in the picture but you can fix it when you apply your lipstick. 3. I used Rimmel's Provocalips 16 hour kiss proof lip colour, 550 - Play with Fire, this really does last. I tend to start applying the lipstick from the edge, following my lip line and then fill in, focusing on the top lip first.                            4. When it's first applied, this lipstick and all of the other 16/24 hour ones appears shiny and feels sticky.  For this lipstick to last as long as possible, it is very important that
