Gone With The Wind...
So yesterday, me and mum had one of those amazing chill days when you just lounge around in trackies doing little jobs and watching telly and we watched Gone with the Wind.
Gone with the Wind is a 4 hour film, but its well worth the watch. Its an old film set in America during the Civil War and focuses on the 'life of petulant southern belle Scarlett O'hara'.
And it got me thinking... During the film Scarlett gets married three times, the first time to someone to make another man jealous, to the second for money and for the third love (I think).
But I just think that Marriage really is one of the beauties of our past and its a shame that people don't value it as much anymore. Honestly I think it is amazing how people married and it really was a promise that they kept. They lived in an age, in which, if something was broken they would fix it and not just take the easy way out!
And I think that our generation really could learn from past generations, everyone seemed so happy and I just feel like people don't care anymore about marriage - they just use it as an excuse for a big party! We shouldn't and I don't think there's anything wrong with living with someone before marriage or just as partners and not as man and wife.
... I just believe in the beauty of tradition and there honestly is, I believe, something magical in the possibility of being with one person for the rest of your life.
Again this is just my opinion, but how romantic! If you get a chance, do watch Gone with the Wind and let me know your opinions!
Stay Excellent
